Alberta Hazely High
Alberta Hazely High, 102, mother of Charles and Alma High passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital. Born July 23, 1913 in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Candice Hazely. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harlan, Kentucky and the Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
She received a BA Degree from Kentucky State University also she received a Master's Degree from the University of Kentucky. She was a retired teacher from Rosenwald High School and Harlan High School. She was married to Homer High. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eunice Davis and Hattie Pearl Wilson and a brother, Wilburn Hazely.
Survivors are a son, Charles (Dorothy) High; a daughter, Alma High; a sister, Ozzella Maxberry; a granddaughter, Tang (Todd) Nesselrode; two grandsons, Tyrone and Reggie High; two great grandchildren, Daegan and Daelan Nesselrode; two nieces, Geraldine Dunk and Ola Mae Reese; one nephew, Kenneth Hazely and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Friday, August 14, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Harlan, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of the service with burial to follow in the Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements by Taul Funeral Home.
